In B31.4, Table 403.3.1.1, no stress is mandatory for slurry lines except Pressure stress. How it is taken care for slurry line in b31.4 and AutoPIPE?
At the moment AutoPIPE does not perform any such distinction for slurry lines. A new enhancement has been logged, TFS-E293329: Add slurry designation for B31.4.
In the meantime, as a workaround, correct allowable value for slurry piping for Hoop stress is given below:
Hoop stress allowable for restrained/unrestrained pipelines = 0.72*E*Sy
Hoop stress allowable for slurry pipelines = 0.80*E*Sy
a. Users can multiply the model's E factor value in the Tools> Model Options> Result with 1.11 (0.80/0.72 = 1.111) to get the correct Hoop allowable value for slurry piping.
b. Users may ignore the rest of the stress categories. Under Tools> Combinations, disable / uncheck Code Combinations that the user interprets as not required by the code.
