Problem:

When attempting to add to or make changes to the cogo points, the following message is received  "The command is unavailable because the cogo buffer has read-only access".

Solution:

The most likely cause is that the cogo buffer has been set to read-only.  To resolve this problem:

  1. In the InRoads Explorer window, right-click on the geometry project name and select "Details".
  2. In the Access Control Details list, locate and highlight the Cogo Buffer.
  3. If the Cogo Buffer is not locked by another user, you can simply choose to Check Out the cogo buffer to set it to Read-Write.
  4. If the Cogo Buffer is locked by another user, you will need to request that the user Check In the file so that it may be accessed.  <Ctrl> Free can be used to free a cogo buffer that may be locked by a user that no longer exists.
