This workflow will detail how to export a geometry project (*.alg) to an ICS file (*.ics) using XML Reports.
Workflow
- Open the ALG in InRoads. File > Open.
- Use the command Tools > XML Reports > Geometry.
- In the Geometry Report dialog, specify the horizontal alignments and Cogo Points you wish to include in the report. Click Apply.

- In the Bentley Civil Report Browser, navigate to the ICS folder and select the file "ICSAuditTrail.xsl".

- Using File > Save As, this file can be saved out as a txt file and if desired, the extension can be change to "*.ics" in Windows Explorer.
Notes:
- If your alignment points do not have names, this report will produce unusable results for ICS input.
- Cogo point names and alignment point names must follow the strict ICS naming conventions for this report to be usable as an ICS input file.
- You must toggle on the Include Vertical Alignments option and select either All or Active if you wish to include them in this report.
