Question:

When a DGN file is double-clicked to open it from Windows Explorer, the Applications menu item does not appear.  How can I make sure the Application menu is available when opening the file by clicking in Windows Explorer??

Answer:

If you want to be able to open a DGN from Windows Explorer and have the applications menu visible, you should create a text file with the name "LoadInRoads.cfg".  It should contain the text "Load_InRoads_SS2=1".  Place this file in the following directory depending on your operating system.  If you have installed InRoads in a location other than the default directory, you will need to install the file in that path.

64bit machine - C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries)\MicroStation\config\system

32 bit machine - C:\Program Files\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries)\MicroStation\config\system
