This wiki article will detail the process of using an MXtips annotation file to add additional annotation data to a centreline that would be difficult or unachievable using an MX styleset

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Disable off centreline annotation in the MX Style Set.

Make the changes as shown below to the Road Centreline (M-string) and the Road Centreline Geometry (G-string) to disable the annotation.

The model should now display as shown below.

  2. Add annotation using MXTip File (MX>Draw>Annotate Drawing or Pages)

The first time the Annotation panel opens it will show as below.

Select the Show/Hide Configuration button to expand the panel as below.

Open an mxtips file, the Plan All Annotation.mxtips file is being used for this example.

Right click on the Plan and click on Hidden Items to show all the available annotation options.

To annotate the centreline select it using the Element Selection tool and on the Panel select Annotate Selection/ refresh.

Annotation will be placed along the centreline based on the setup of the file.

The MXTips annotation can be customised to suit your requirements and offers the ability to have control over what levels the annotation is placed on.
