Question: 

Create/Edit Alignment by CogoPoints does not populate points beginning with Alpha characters.  How can this be corrected?

Solution:

Select Tools > Variable Manager.  There is a variable under Command Behavior - Geometry - "Alphanumeric names in Create/Edit Alignment by Cogo Points". This variable permits the command to populate points with Alpha characters.
