Question:

I would like to customize the Files of Type that are displayed when I attempt to load a file in Data Acquisition.

Answer:

Use the workflow below to customize the files of type that are listed in the above dialog box:

• Select the Data Acquisition icon in the MicroStation Tasks menu:
  
  
  
  
  
• In MicroStation, select Settings > Design File.
  
  
  
• In the left pane of the Design File Settings dialog, highlight "Data Acquisition".  In the right pane, locate "Data Import Items" under the Data File Parsing heading:
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Click on the file type that is listed and then select the browse button:
  
  
  
  
• In the Data Import Items dialog, you can choose to either Add, Delete, Use or Exclude various file types.
