Question:

Is there a way to export or display the pipes within a drainage (*.sdb) file in 3D (with the pipe diameter and thickness displayed)?

Answer:

There is an application add-in to accomplish this task.  Enable that add-in by going to Tools>Application Add Ins>View Drainage as Solids Add In (at the very bottom of the list).  The command will then be located in Drainage>View>Drainage as Solids.
