With i-model Composition Server, it is possible to create a single multi-page PDF from multiple source documents.
Background
When creating PDF documents from ProjectWise using i-model Composition Server, there may be times that you wish to create one single PDF document from multiple source documents. This can be achieved by placing the documents into a single Interplot Set file (.ips).
Steps to Accomplish
- Open ProjectWise InterPlot Organizer
- On the "Welcome to ProjectWise InterPlot Organizer dialog, press "Cancel"
- From the menu select "File/ProjectWise Login..." and log into your datasource
- Once logged in select "File/Create Plots..."
- Press the "Add..." button and select the documents you wish to print to PDF
- Specify a Settings file (if applicable) and press OK
- Select "File/Save As" and save the .ips file into your ProjectWise datasource and exit InterPlot Organizer
- Open ProjectWise Administrator
- Log into your datasource and go to the "Rendition Profile Components / Output File Formats" node
- Select PDF, and press Edit
- From the "Format" dialog, ensure the "Create one multi-page PDF document for each IPS file" is checked
- Open ProjectWise Explorer
- Log into your datasource and navigate to the .ips file created above in Step 7.
- Right click and select "Create Renditions..."
- Ensure that the Format is set to PDF and all other applicable options are set and press "Submit"
- When run, a single PDF document will be created with all of the documents from the .ips file
