Problem

User reports the DCS/iCS scheduled jobs hung in the Windows Scheduled Tasks queue and not start.

Finding:
User had more than 100 jobs created via PW DCS scheduling. These jobs where gridlocked in the Windows Scheduled Tasks queue. The failed Scheduled Tasks jobs show Error ID 131 in the Event logs. Task Scheduler failed to start task because the number of tasks in the task queue exceeds the quota currently configured to 100. PW DCS software does not have any limitation or restrictions in scheduling the number of jobs. The limitation is in the resources the OS and the server that PW DCS/ICS is install. In this case, Windows 2008 R2 Task Scheduler Service Quotas' default value of 100 caused the PW DCS jobs not to start.

Solution

Reduce the number of running tasks for the PW DCS scheduled jobs or increase the configured Windows queue quota.
Steps to increase the Windows queue quota can be found on Windows TechNet site.
