What does the Plan By 3D Element Tool do?
Answer:
The Plan By 3D Element Tool will create a 2D element and set the original 3D element as the active profile.
Example:
The example below shows how to use the Plan By 3D Element Tool on an imported MX 3D non alignment element.
- Use Import Geometry to import the MX 3D non alignment element.

- The element will show as an Additional 3D Linear Element and have a limited popup menu.

- Switch to the Default-3D Cad Model

- Select the Plan By 3D Element Tool from the 3D Geometry panel

- Select the 3D element.

- When you hover over the element it now should show as Current active 3D linear element.

- Switch back to Default Cad model.

- When you hover over the element it shows as a Complex element which has an active profile. The full pop up menu will show now for the element.
