Question:

I recently installed InRoads SELECT series 3, but it didn't upgrade SELECT series 2. So now I have InRoads SELECT series 2 and InRoads SELECT series 3. Are there compatibility issue between the two versions? Should I uninstall InRoads SELECT series 2 prior to installing InRoads SELECT series 3? Can users work on a project where one user is using SELECT series 2 and another uses InRoads SELECT series 3?

Answer:

InRoads SELECT series 3 is not an upgrade to InRoads SELECT series 2, it is full installation and completely separate from InRoads SELECT series 2. Both versions can exist on the same system without issues because they are stored in different folders (directories). Files are interchangeable between SELECT series 2 and SELECT series 3; however, if you open an ALG or DTM in SELECT series 3, you must save it down to 08.11.07 (this is done with Save As>Options). One user can work on a project in SELECT series 2 while another work on that same project in SELECT series 3 but I would not advise that because again, once an ALG or DTM has been opened in SELECT series 3, you must save it down to 08.11.07 (SELECT series 2).
