i-model Publishing Engine Application and Managed Workspaces

There is no longer a need to manually define program associations for each job. iCS for i-models now includes a Program Association option.

When you select Program Association, documents in the input set that have an associated application installed on the server will be processed by that application and documents in the input set that do not have an associated application installed on the server will not be processed. You will receive an error in the Job Monitor window for documents that do not have an associated application installed.

When you select a specific application, that application will be used as the i-model publishing engine to process all documents in the input set.

In the job definition, on the iCS for i-models tab, you can specify Program Association to use the ProjectWise document application or specify one of the power platforms installed on the server.

The following applications were tested and are known to support automation i-model publishing at the time of this release:

The version specified is the minimum version that can be used as an i-model publishing engine. Previous versions are not supported. Incremental updates and/or subsequent releases of the tested version are expected to work as well.

It is expected that other Bentley applications which are not listed will also support automated i-model publishing in the future.

Managed Workspaces

Managed workspaces are now supported for ProjectWise documents in addition to Workspace profiles which were previously supported. By default, the managed workspace or workspace profile will be used when processing the rendition.

Overriding the managed workspace

In the job definition, on the iCS for i-models tab, select Options and you will find the Workspace definitions.

To override the managed workspace, set Override ProjectWise workspace to True. Select the ellipsis to specify the new workspace settings.
