Adding Custom Form (Page) Sizes to Dynamic Composition Server Printer

Adding page (a.k.a. “form”) sizes to your iCS printer to match what users may be more accustomed to seeing when they select a page format from a conventional printer driver.

This is sometimes desired, but it is not a requirement. See also: What are the recommended settings for the ProjectWise Dynamic Composition Server printer driver? - ProjectWise Publishing Wiki - ProjectWise - Bentley Communities

To add a custom form size to your iCS printer…

(Note: For Bentley hosted implementations, you will need to file a service request. That should include the name and dimensions of each new form to be added.)

Log into the iCS Server

Open the Control Panel and select Devices and Printers.

Select the ProjectWise Dynamic Composition Server printer from your list of printers and then open its Print Server Properties.

(Note: Your default iCS printer may be set to some other printer. To verify this, open C:\Program Files (x86)\ProjectWise InterPlot Organizer\config\ip.cfg file located on the iCS server and find the configuration variable called: IP_DCS_RENDITION_PRINTER)

In the Print Server Properties dialog box, check the Create a new form box and give your new “form” size a name and define its dimensions.

Finally, hit the Save Form button and then create another new form (if desired).

Below is a chart of commonly used form sizes that are not included with the Dynamic Composition Server out-of-the-box:
