What is the Slope Distance Scale Factor that is found on the Corrections dialog box?

Answer:

The Slope Distance Scale Factor multiplies the slope distance by the number specified when importing raw data. This factor is obtained from projection tables corresponding to the area within the zone where the line was measured. This is also commonly called the grid factor.

Multiplying a measurement by the Slope Distance Scale Factor allows the user to perform a grid to ground conversion upon import. The Slope Distance Scale Factor applies to horizontal distances, which include arc lengths, tangent distances, chord lengths, radii, stationing, offsets, and slopes/gradients.

All horizontal distances in InRoads are specified as ground values. Northing and easting values, on the other hand, are always in grid coordinates.
