This video demonstrates how to create a horizontal geometry element and profile from a survey feature. The steps demonstrated are as follows:

  1. Create a new 2D DGN ("MainCL.DGN") in which the horizontal geometry and profile will be created.  Make sure that this DGN already has the Default-3D model created.
  2. Isolate any survey features in the survey DGN that you want export, then run the Export To>DGN Graphics... command and create a new, temporary DGN that contains just the desired survey features.
  3. Reference the exported DGN into the Default-3D model of the MainCL.DGN file
  4. Use the MicroStation copy command to copy the elements from the exported DGN into the MainCL.DGN file.
  5. Run the 3D Geometry>Plan by 3D Element command, select each 3D element.  This will create a 2D geometry back in the Default model, as well as a profile for each element.
