Problem

Is the MSDTC.log file used by ProjectWise  - and if so, how does it interface with ProjectWise?

Solution

Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ), MAY use the MS Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) service when running in a server cluster. MSMQ is needed for ProjectWise Orchestration Framework. MSDTC.log is the transaction log for the Microsoft Distributed Transactions Coordinator (MSDTC). MSDTC works with SQL server, but it might also work with other apps. In this instance the msdtc.log was using a large amount of the cluster in the customers environment. More information on DTC can be found at the following link:
