How to implement the Reference File Exchange command
The Reference File Exchange Command exchanges the reference file for the master, and checks the file out for you, so you can make changes to reference files properly without "copying" out.
In Projectwise explorer, under Tools > Options > Settings > User interface, make sure "show selective set" is checked.
In Microstation: Open Reference Mgr. > Click on Attach References icon, create a logical name in the Reference Attachment settings dialog box. OK In Reference Mgr., highlight the attached reference, right click > Exchange You should get an "alert" box asking if you want to check out the document, > you will then get dialogue asking if you want to update the server copy of the "Master" reference, click OK You now can make changes to the former reference as the "active" document. Save, and you should be prompted to check it in.
