Background

There is a document workflow state e.g.'Approve' on which you want to leave only 'read' rights for the user (or user group). However you want that this user (or user group) would be able to create versions of the documents that are in 'Approve' workflow state. 

Steps to Accomplish

There is an option that allows user to create version in in the first workflow state where this user has create permissions. You can turn on this option in ProjectWise Administrator:

1. Open Datasource Properties.
2. Settings tab.
3. Versions.
4. Select 'Put created version into first workflow state having create permission' option.
5. Ok.
