If you want to extract thumbnails from the documents in your datasource and there are big amount of documents unprocessed you should try to configure Thumbnail Extraction settings in ProjectWise Administrator. These changes might speed up thumbnail extraction of the documents in your datasources.
Steps to Accomplish
- Open ProjectWise Administrator.
- Expand 'Document Processors' node.
- Right click on 'Thumbnail Extractions'.
- Properties.
Thumbnail Extraction Properties dialog opens up. - Change 'Retry extraction in (minutes)' value. By default it is 180 minutes. Change it to 30 minutes. This option is used to restart the processing if it fails at some point.
- Change 'Max documents processed in a single pass' to 1000. (by default it is 100) This limits the amount of documents that may be passed to processing in a single document inspection pass.
- Open ' Scheduled Updates' tab.
- Set 15 minutes for 'Check for updated documents every (minute)' option. This option defines the amount of time to lapse from the end of one inspection for new or updated documents, to the beginning of the next inspection.
- OK.
These changes should make processors to extract thumbnails quicker than with the default settings. Default settings can be changed back once all documents will be processed.
