Problem:

I am trying to save my preference, but the "Save" and "Save As" buttons are greyed out: 

Solution:

1.  Your XIN file is most likely set to Read-Only or resides in a Read-Only directory.  You can change the Access Mode by right-clicking on the XIN file in the InRoads Explorer Window and selecting "Read-Write".

 

2.  Another possibility is the LCK file that is generated for the Preference XIN was not deleted automatically last time the program was closed and it has locked yourself out of the file.  Go to the directory location of the XIN file and look for an LCK file with the same name as the preferences and manually delete that LCK file.
