Problem Description

iModels fails to be created with the error message in PW Automation Service Administrator: "Could not create iModel".

The job simply stops and iModel is not created.

Even Viewer for each failure shows SideBySide error message:

Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\ProjectWise\AutomationServices\AutomationService.dll". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC90.CRT,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="9.0.30729.6161" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis

Steps to Resolve

The root cause for this error is a missing/wrong version of VC90.CRT. Downloading from Microsoft site new version of this file 9.0.30729.6161 resolves the issue.

Additionally all the prerequisites should be checked and confirmed that they comply with the requirements for ProjectWise Automation Services as stated in ReadMe file delivered with the software.
