Problem Description

User has an active file that has a document code, and the file also has versions.

User wants to move the active file to a different folder but not the versions. Is this possible?

Explanation

1. No this is not possible. There is a datasource setting to allow documents with versions to be moved, but the Active files and version files must stay together.

2. In Projectwise Administrator, log in as the admin

3. Right click on the datasource and choose properties

4. Click on the Settings tab

5. Scroll down to the Version section.

6. Check on the settings: Document having versions can be moved

   1. When this setting is on, users can move documents that have versions. Specifically, when you move a document with versions, the versions will always move with the document — it is not possible to move a document and not move its versions. When this setting is off, users cannot move documents that have versions.
