The first time a user logs into ProjectWise Explorer they are receiving: Error 50000 "Failed to get object identifier by its GUID. Not found."
This issue may be experienced if a ProjectWise Geospatial background map has been applied to a data source and can no longer be resolved.
Take note of the data source being logged into and review your PWC.log file searching for the line immediately above the line containing “Error 50000” that provides the background map name that cannot be located.

Check the location in the PWadmin for spatial maps to see where they are pointing to, then check to make sure the users have at least read access to the folder and documents.
In another case of this issue, someone had the same working directory as another user on the same box and that caused the same problem because PW could not copy the file out to the same workdir as the file was already there from the other user. Normally we would get different error message.
One other thing is that in the admin the background maps cannot have a space in the name
