Problem Description
Error Message 1607 - unable to install installshield scripts runtime
The Installation of the 08.09.04.89
(1) Distribution service administrator
(2) Automation service administrator
both fail with the same message. before any options or real progress is seen.
Message : 1607 unable to install shield scripts runtime.
Solution
Our IT.Dept have been looking into it and found that MathCAD 13 was not cleaning up the install shield from it's own install correctly. Deleting the MathCAD specific key below solved the issue.
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\025CE097CCCC01840AEF60613302C44E
Additionally the registry key was pointing to version 9 of Install shield so that even when the 10.50 install from Bentley was run - version 9 was installed any way due to the registry key.
Deleting the registry key seams to have no adverse effects on MathCAD.
