Problem
Import/Export Tool not returning any results
Solution
User had over 6,000 files in PW developer environment. It was taking about ½ hour for the prompt to return to us to allow selection of the (to be) exported files. They were bailing out prior to completion.
There was no indication that it was working, however, so surprised when they inadvertently let the ex/im tool run and voila, we could select the files to export.
Import/Export Tool goes, there is no such limit defined - They have seen up to 65K files but in this case memory consumption increases & will be a bit slow.
Also it depends on the maximum number of Excel sheet rows allowed by MS Office (office 2003 supports around 65K rows & office 2007 supports around 1 million rows)
Note:
It is suggested to create separate excel sheets with max rows of 40 to 50K to avoid memory & performance problem
