Change storage area for a Project Template

Background

In my templates folder, I have a project template that I would like to change the storage area on. I right mouse click on the project folder, choose properties and then change the storage area and hit okay. However the storage area change does not inherit down through the rest of the folders and files. How can I change the storage area for the entire folder structure without doing it manually one folder at a time?

The easiest way to do this would be to create a new project template using the old template and through the wizard change the storage area, checking the box that says “set for subfolders and subprojects”.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. In the templates folder, Create a new project.
  2. In the New Project Wizard, choose the project template you want to change the storage area on
  3. Give your project a name, change the storage area and check the box that says “set for subfolders and subprojects”
  4. Click next or finish to finish creating the project
  5. The new project template now has the new storage are set for all folders and subfolders and is identical to the original in every other way.
  6. Delete the project template that is pointing to the old storage area, and rename the new template if needed.
