Introduction
Database corruption issues can sometimes occur with a license database utilized by SELECTserver. To resolve such issues, a new database can be created. This document provides steps for creating one.
Steps to perform
- Select from the Windows Start menu:
All Programs > Bentley > SELECTserver - If running Windows Server 2008 or another operating system with User Access Control (UAC), right-click on SELECTserver Database Setup, and select "Run as administrator" from the contextual menu. Otherwise, just open SELECTserver Database Setup.

- A window will appear. If running SELECTserver 09.00.00.xxx, locate the Databases section in the lower left corner. If running an earlier version (08.11.xx.xxx or earlier), locate the Databases section in the upper right corner instead.
- Click the New button.

- Enter a name for the new database, and click the OK button.
Important: If you receive an error after clicking the OK button, ensure that you are explicitly running the program as an administrator as shown in step 2.

- Then click the OK button in the lower right corner to prepare the database.

- A progress dialog will appear during the setup process.

- Once setup is complete, a dialog will indicate that the database requires a license file. Click the OK button to open the SELECTserver administration site.

- The SELECTserver administration site will open with a Configuration Wizard. Proceed through the screens to retrieve a license file. If further assistance is needed, please consult the Installation Guide (pg 101) in the SELECTserver manual.
