No valid customer

Problem

The following message appears when trying to activate

"You are not recognized as a valid customer on the license server"

There are no access restrictions set by IP-address of Host name that were set before.

 

The SS-Bentley.SELECTserver.Gateway.exe.log file also shows the message:
"Client [IP-Address] has been denied access to Site"



Solution

Delete the LicenseConfiguration.xml file, which can be found in the following path:
C:\Program Files\Bentley\SELECTserver
or
C:\Program Files (x86)\SELECTserver

Previously set Access Restrictions by IP-Address(es) or computer name(s) have been removed on the Hosted or Deployed Administration page, but are still contained in the LicenseConfiguration.xml file

The file is a local copy of the SELECTserver license file.
This allows the Gateway to continue running for up to 30 days, in case there is no communication with the license sserver.
The Gateway tries daily to renew the license file.

The LicenseConfiguration.xml file is only required by the SELECTserver Gateway and si the basis for the Gateway to give a license for a pre-XM product.

It contains all the information about the number of licenses and whether a product can be started or not.
The file is not used by the license tool.
