Program Details:
This program is an official accreditation from Bentley Systems and is designed for users who wish to become more proficient with the fundamentals of ProjectWise administrative techniques. Once Accredited, users will receive a Bentley Certificate and a Digital Badge on Credly’s Acclaim platform.
Bentley's ProjectWise Fundamentals Accreditation program recognizes individuals adept at configuring and optimizing ProjectWise platform. They excel in setting up ProjectWise Security, creating Custom Attributes and Environments, and ProjectWise Searching. Accredited colleagues will align with ProjectWise Design Integration project requirements, and enhance collaboration, which will simplify data management. Completion imparts skills for improved productivity and streamlined project delivery.
The program comprises of 70 recordings divided into five modules created by experienced Bentley senior ProjectWise consultants. The five modules are:
- Module 1: Getting Started with ProjectWise (Overview)
- In this module, ProjectWise administrators will be able to explore basic functionalities available in ProjectWise Explorer, such as how users can bring in and work with ProjectWise documents and how searches can be executed to return the most optimal result. ProjectWise administrators also have an opportunity to explore more advanced capabilities that never thought existed in ProjectWise. some examples of these capabilities are PDF generation, PDF Markup, and Deleted Items.
- Module 2: Overview (Users, Groups & User Lists)
- In this module, we will learn how to create Users, Groups, and User Lists. We will learn the most basic but fundamental options available under user settings/profile. We will learn two new categories of power users to help ProjectWise Administrators.
- Module 3: Overview (Environments & Interfaces)
- In this module, we will learn to create an Environment with a defined set of attributes (metadata). we will also learn to design a form/page in order for users to populate and assign metadata to documents. We will learn how to create drop down lists and auto populate some attributes to ensure users manually populating information as little as possible. Finally we will also learn how we can use Environment attributes to define the document names according to organizational standard naming conventions.
- Module 4: Overview (Workflow & States)
- In this module, ProjectWise administrators will learn setting up of Workflow/States and assigning it to documents. Having documents assign to a workflow will help ProjectWise users quickly track the current state the document is in. For instance, is the document being worked on or is the document currently under review. This module, will go through step by step, setting up of Workflow/States and assigning it to documents.
- Module 5: Overview (ProjectWise Security & Access Rights)
- In this module, we will learn how to setup access rights for folders & documents. We will discuss best practices & guidelines to follow when assigning access rights to folders and documents. We will run through different scenarios where we can increase or decrease security for certain individuals and understand the impact. Towards the end of this module, we will compare setting up of Workflow Security in the ProjectWise Administrator program versus setting of Workflow security in the ProjectWise Explorer program.
The Fundamentals Accreditation program is now offered in an OnDemand format via YouTube, which provides more flexibility to our users, allows a wider audience to view the content, and reduces the time commitment required to achieve the Accreditation. Another benefit of OnDemand content is the ability to go back and review the material after you have completed accreditation, which increases retention.
