Fulfillment Contact workflow changes

Dear Valued Customer,

As 2021 begins, I thought it was a good time reach out to you and clarify a change to the IMS Roles in “IMS 2.0” – our latest iteration of the Bentley Identity System.  In addition to the IMS interface refresh and usability improvements and we’ve made across our platform, I wanted to highlight an important change we’ve made to the Fulfilment Contact role.

As a refresher, a Fulfilment Contact is the contact listed on the contract between your organization and Bentley. They receive notifications for any new or updated license/entitlements, and have full administrative (a.k.a. “Admin”) rights within User Management.  Prior to our upgrade to IMS 2.0 in August 2020, your organization was required to contact Bentley directly in order to have a new Fulfilment Contact added to your contract, which would subsequently show up in User Management.

As part of our goal to increase ease of administration and self-service abilities across User Management, this limitation has been removed.  As of today, any Fulfilment Contact, Admin, or Co-Admin can add or remove a Fulfilment Contact.  Additionally, this can now be controlled on a Global and Local (country) level.  We also updated our documentation across User Management, so if you have any questions about managing Fulfilment Contacts, please refer to our updated wiki article that describes this process in greater detail.  We’ve even created a page to help anyone with a Fulfilment Contact role to set up Admins and Co-Admins within their organization to grant them user management abilities.

I hope this change to our policy empowers you and your organization, and makes managing your users easier than ever.  In the coming months, we will continue to roll out additional changes to User Management, the CONNECTION Client, and the entire IMS ecosystem to make it more powerful and intuitive for your organization.  In the meantime, please reach out to me directly with any questions or concerns about this change or any IMS feature.

Thank you
