Question:

When I open an OpenRoads Designer DGN file in MicroStation, the annotation fields update and change from a valid number to a string of number signs (####) or to the name of the element property called in the original Text Favorite.

 

Answer:

1.) In your MicroStation configuration, set the following configuration variable:  MS_AUTO_UPDATE_FIELDS = NEVER
This will prevent the fields from being updated by MicroStation, which does not have access to the OpenRoads civil data.

2.) In the Model Properties for the models in the DGN, make sure the "Update Fields Automatically" toggle is turned OFF.
