Error or Warning Message

Error message: failed to contact the license server

Explanation

When trying to "Send Logs Now" when the license status is "offline" mode you get prompted with the above error message.

1. This could be due to the Hosted or Deployed SELECTserver being down.

2. The client machine does not have permission to connect to the SELECTServer through the firewall.

How to Avoid

Option 1.

  1. Type: selectserver.bentley.com  in an internet browser window, if you can get access to the SELECTserver Login page then the SELECTserver is good and running. Go to Option 2.

  2. If you get an error message when trying to connect to SELECTserver.bentley.com then the server is down, please raise a Service Reqeuest on the issue.

Option 2.

  1. You will need to talk to your own IT Administrator and insure that your work station has permission to connect to the Deployed or Hosted SELECTserver through the firewall.
