Question:
Why do I get the following message when changing the feature definition of a node, conduit or catchment?
"Hydraulic Properties - Update hydraulic properties from prototype?"
Answer:
There is an enhancement in version 10.09.00.91 to update automatically the hydraulic properties when a feature definition for a drainage item is changed. It also considers the case when a feature definition is applied to an item that does not already have one. In this case, the above message is prompted to ask whether the hydraulic properties need to be updated or not.
For example, when importing InRoads Storm and Sanitary data, or OpenFlows data, then the hydraulic properties are already set up, so you would not want to overwrite them with whatever is in the prototype when assigning a feature definition. Or If you use the Extract Utilities from Graphic tool and you probably would want to use the hydraulic properties from the prototype.
