There are multiple ways to entitle your users to certain Bentley applications.
- Default Access
- Set access for all Bentley applications in a country
- "I want to allow all IMS users in the United States to use all Bentley applications"
- Application
- Set access for specific applications in a country
- "I want to allow all IMS users in the United States to use MicroStation"
- Entitlement Groups
- Set access for multiple applications for users in an Entitlement Group
- "I want to allow all IMS users in the 'Special Projects' group to be able to use MicroStation and AutoPIPE"
- IMS Users
- Set access for specific named IMS users one at a time
- "I want Jane to be able to use MicroStation"
Each level is over-ridden by the subsequent level. For example, the default access for MicroStation for United States is set to denied, but an IMS user is set to allowed. The IMS user will be allowed to use that application. All of these may be managed by Administrators and Co-Administrators from Entitlement Management.
