SES Licensing Landing Page

 

What is the purpose of this information?

To provide an explanation of the terms used throughout Bentley. 

• Account Administrator - Installs software for the organization and manages the users’ access.  The Account Administrator is given that role by the Fulfillment Contact.
• Alerts - An option to provide an on-screen notification that an Organization no longer has any Perpetual licenses available.  By continuing, the user will be charged for a Term License.
• Commercial Program - The agreement with Bentley that outlines an Organizations license model.

• Domain claims - A domain can only be claimed by one Organization so that users are not associated to different Organizations.  Additionally, the same email address can NOT be used to register the same user with a different Organization.  The user would need to use a different email address.
• Enablement - Activating the Product.  Enabling a product means that you have signed in to that application.
• Entitlement - Access to a License.  Entitlements are on each account's contract.  These are the list of products that your Organization is permitted to use due to the Commercial Program you have signed.
• Fulfillment Contact - The primary account contact, who is responsible for purchasing and contracts. The Fulfillment Contact gets the first email from Bentley about how to register users and download software.
• License Pooling - A license that can be used on different machines.  It is not locked to one user/machine.
• Perpetual License - A license that is covered under the Organizations Commercial program.  These are the licenses an Organization has already purchased.
• Subscription Analytics Service (SAS) - The available reports for usage and analytics.
• Subscription Entitlement Service (SES) - Bentley's latest licensing model that requires users to register and sign in to enable products that are using the Subscription Entitlement Service.  Please note that not all Bentley products use SES at this time.  At times you may hear this referred to as CONNECT Licensing.  
• Roles - The specific access a user has to Bentley Services.
• Subscription Services Portal - Bentley's landing page for Administrators of CONNECT Services.  Services on this page allow Administrative control.

    • Subscription Analytics
• Term License - A license that is enabled by the user that is not covered by the Organizations Commercial Program.  This will incur an additional cost.
• User Management - A service to add/delete/manage user access for an Organization. User Management also allows roles to be applied to each user as well as the ability to make domain claims. 
  • Typically used by an Administrator to Register and assign roles to users in the Organization.
  • You must be a Fulfillment Contact, Admin or Co-Admin to have access to this Service.
• Users and Groups - Used to control the ability for a user (on an individual or group basis) to enable an application.  This can be used to grant or block entitlements.
