Creating an object with a stacked arrangement (ex: an ATV with a no allowance symbol)

Question:

How do I create an object with a stacked arrangement in OpenRoads SignCAD?

Answer:

A stacked arrangement is used to align objects on top of one another like a no allowance symbol over an ATV symbol.

1) For this example, an imported ATV symbol will be used. Here is a wiki with instructions for importing DWG/DXF Files into OpenRoads SignCAD.

2) Right click on the ATV symbol and pick Edit Data from the floating menu. In the Object dialog box, press the View and Edit button. To change the ATV size, pick Manage>Scale, enter a new width or height and press OK. To add fill color, select the ATV, right click and pick Fill Color. Select the desired fill color.

3) Pick the Allowance icon on the toolbar and left click on the workspace to bring up the Allowance Symbol dialog box. Enter values for the Inner radius, Circle width and Line width and press OK.

4) Pick the Arrange icon on the toolbar and left click on the workspace to bring up the Arrangement dialog box. Select Type: Stack and press OK.

5) Left click on the ATV and hold the left mouse button to get the hand.  Drag the ATV over the stacked arrangement box and let go of the left mouse button when it blinks.  The stacked arrangement will adjust in size to accommodate the ATV symbol.  Left click on the allowance symbol and hold the left mouse button to get the hand.  Drag the allowance symbol over the stacked arrangement box and let go of the left mouse button when the blinking box around the ATV appears.

6) Pick the Select tool and left click on the perimeter of the stacked arrangement box and press <delete> on the keyboard to remove the arrangement box.

7) Select the no allowance symbol and pick Manage>Bring to Front to position the no allowance symbol in front of the ATV symbol.

8) Pick File>Close and "Yes" to save changes. Press OK to the Object dialog box. The object with the ATV and no allowance symbol can be added to a sign.
