How to collect installation log

The following instructions show how to gather CONNECTION Client installation logs for the troubleshooting of installation issues.

Background

When CONNECTION Client is installed, it generates diagnostic data of the installation process for troubleshooting purposes in case it fails. These logs can be retrieved and provided to Entitlement Management support for further analysis.

Steps to Accomplish

Perform the following steps after an unsuccessful installation attempt:

  1. Right-click on the Windows Start menu, and select Run from the contextual menu.
  2. Execute the following command:
    %temp%
  3. In the window that appears, obtain the latest log file beginning with the name CONNECTION_Client.
