How to label stations with a straight line format ssss.ss with different units from the design file'

Question:

Is it possible to setup a labeling format to label a point on an alignment in Straight Line Format (SLM) rather that the normal station format (Sta. 100+00 to SLM 1.8939 miles)?

Answer:

  1. Open the Text Favorite Manager.
  2. Create a new Text Favorite
  3. Set the following:
    1. Field Type: Civil Element Properties
    2. Field Sub Type: Plan Annotation then navigate to Point > Point Distance
    3. Linear Units Format > Master Units to desired units. It is set to Miles in the screenshot.
  4. Hit Accept then Save. Close Text Favorite Manager
  5. Open the Annotation Group and set the needed Annotation Definition to point to the newly created Text Favorite.
  6. Annotate Text.
