This support solution provides steps for resolving a licensing error for the point-cloud streaming feature of a ProjectWise caching server.

Error or Warning Message

Every ten minutes, the following error is written to the Application event log:
A valid SELECTServer license was not found for ProjectWise Point Cloud Streaming Server.  The functionality will be disabled.

Explanation

The caching server is expecting a license for ProjectWise Point-cloud Services with a feature string of "platform=cachingserver" but is not finding one. A license with this feature string is disabled by default in an Enterprise License Subscription. However, it can be enabled via the SELECTserver administration site.

How to Avoid

Please perform the following steps:

1. Open the SELECTserver administration site.
2. Select ELS Feature Level Config from the Site Configuration drop-down menu.
3. Select a site from the drop-down menu in the upper right. This should be the site where your ProjectWise caching server obtains licenses.
4. Scroll down to Project Point-cloud Services in the main body of the web page.
5. Ensure that the cachingserver feature is enabled.
6. Click the Apply button.
