How can I align multiple objects and text in OpenRoads SignCAD?
Answer:
Tabular arrangements are useful for aligning multiple objects and text on the workspace or on a sign.
- Pick the Arrange tool and left click on the workspace to bring up the dialog box. Pick Type: Tabular and select Columns: 4, Rows: 4 (adjust the number of columns and rows to match the number of objects/text being used). Press OK.
2. With the Select tool, select and drag the objects and text individually to add them to the cells of the tabular arrangement as shown below.
3. To edit the properties of the tabular arrangement, right click on it and pick Edit Data. In the Tabular Arrangement dialog, pick the Minimum Space tab. Set the spacing value to 2 for all sides and press OK.
4. Use the Select tool and <shift> key to select all of the objects. Notice the small white selection boxes that show on the bottom left corner of each object indicating that they are selected. Right click and pick Object Spacing from the floating menu. In the Object Spacing dialog, set the desired spacing (ex: Top = 4, Left & Right = 8 and Bottom = 2) and press OK. The spacing between the objects and text is reduced.
5. The tabular arrangement can be selected and added to a sign panel. For this example, the tabular arrangement is used to align the objects and text on the workspace. To do this, select the tabular arrangement and press the <delete> key to remove the arrangement while keeping the objects and text aligned on the workspace.
