  1. Do I need a special version of CONNECTION Client to host my In House Content?
    1. All versions of CONNECTION Client released from Q1 2021 will support In House Content.
      • Version 11.xx.xx.xx and newer 
  2. Which hosting sites does CONNECTION Client In House Content support?
    1. CONNECTION Client only supports SharePoint for the In House Content service.
  3. How do I prepare my SharePoint site to link to CONNECTION Client?
    1. See the 'Connection Client In House Learn - SharePoint Integration Requirements Document'. Found with this WIKI In-House Learn SharePoint requirements or can be provided by your ESM or Success Manager. If you need further assistance you can submit a Service Request to help guide you through the process.
  4. What is the cost of CONNECTION Client In House Content?
    1. CONNECTION Client In House Content is a complementary offering for E365 and DOT’s.
  5. Who manages the SharePoint site?
    1. Each individual user account will manage and update their own SharePoint site. No person from outside the organization will have access – unless permissions are provided by the user own SharePoint administrator.
  6. What content do I display?
    1. You can include your own proprietary Learn & Standards content in an Office 365 format e.g. Word, PPT, PDF etc together with videos. There's also the option to include a web link to a page on your own website.    
  7. My content used to be available in CONNECT Advisor is it available in the CONNECTION Client?
    1. The same In House Content that was available in CONNECT Advisor is now available in CONNECTION Client. There are no changes required to the user SharePoint site.
  8. Why do we need to implement Single Sign On (SSO) with Office365?
    1. We need to make sure that a single security token is valid for a user’s internal systems as well as for Bentley.
  9. How is content displayed and how does search work in CONNECTION Client?
    1. If I have MicroStation installed on my machine (for example), content that resides in MicroStation Asset Library and content under the common Asset Library will show under In House content.
    2. If I search on a topic that resides in another Asset Library, ORD as an example, all Organization specific content in MicroStation as well as ORD would be at the top.
  10. Will CONNECTION Client Search only show content for the Bentley products installed on my machine?
    1. The Search functionality provides a global search and will include results for all Bentley products - not only those installed on each user machine.    
  11. CONNECTION Client is showing zero content for In House Content. Please check the SharePoint site for any issues. Contact your SharePoint administrator. Some of the troubleshooting techniques are mentioned below.

a. Check metadata information. All the fields should be populated with the required values. Title, Description, Release Label, Generation is a must.

b. There shouldn’t be any duplicate items in the list. At least, Title and Description should be uncommon between those items.

c. Check release label added in SharePoint against the product from where the CONNECTION Client is being launched. For e.g.: I have MicroStation SS4 installed and on SharePoint Release Label field also contains SS4, so no issues.

How to Re-enable “Keep Me Signed In” Window:

Situation:

Users who have already set their preference in the “Keep Me Signed In” window and have checked the “Don’t Ask Me Again” box, are not able to change this preference. Now they are asked to sign into SharePoint every time they access CAPS.
