Using a proxy bypass to avoid connectivity errors with internal servers

Problem

CONNECTION Client displays a connectivity error when attempting to access an internal server during federated sign-in.

Solution

If a proxy server is in use and fails to recognize internal addresses, configure the WebView2 component utilized by CONNECTION Client with a proxy bypass using the following steps:

  1. Open an Administrative Command Prompt or Windows PowerShell Admin console.
  2. Execute the following command, replacing <URL> with the internal server encountering connectivity issues:
    reg add HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge\WebView2\AdditionalBrowserArguments /v Bentley.Connect.Client.exe /d "--proxy-bypass-list=<URL>"
