Azure Virtual Desktop and Azure Virtual Machines
Bentley Systems allows the use of the Bentley applications on the supported operating systems under the following conditions:
- The virtual machines, desktops or applications should have access to Bentley System's cloud services.
- Each machine actively running a Bentley application must have its own unique machine name. This applies across all of the resource groups and subscriptions used by the organization
- To distinguish machine names across resource groups, it is recommended to use a unique Name prefix when creating a host pool or individual virtual machines.
- Operating systems that allow multi-session use, including Windows Server operating systems and Windows 10 Multi-session are only allowed through the installed Microsoft Remote Desktop client (also known as Windows Desktop client) or an RDP connect file.
- Important Note: Use of Bentley products on a multi-session operation system through the RD Web client is not an allowed at this time.
- The list of supported operating systems for CONNECTION Client and Bentley License Client includes Windows 10 Enterprise and Windows Server 2019. Please review list of supported operating systems in CONNECTION Client FAQs
It is recommended that running applications should be closed before the remote connection is ended. Depending on the configuration, the virtual machine may continue to run even if the remote session is ended. If the Bentley applications is left running, that will continue to count as usage for billing purposes.
