Standard Signs

Question:

Where are the standard signs located in OpenRoads SignCAD?

Answer:

The pre-made U.S. Federal standard signs are located in the U.S. 2004 and U.S. 2009 standards in OpenRoads SignCAD.  The U.S. 2004 standard includes the signs shown in the U.S. Federal 2004 Standard Highway Signs Manual.  The U.S. 2009 standard includes the signs shown in the U.S. Federal 2012 Supplement to the 2004 Edition. Multiple Federal and State MUTCD sign libraries are available for selection from the File>Open or File>Import dialog boxes in OpenRoads SignCAD by picking the Standard Sign button.

Standards that have complete or supplemental sign libraries within OpenRoads SignCAD also have a Standard Signs icon on the toolbar for one click access to the Standard Sign dialog box for that standard.

 .

Press the Search button to enter a keyword or sign code.  All matching signs will be displayed by browsing through the Code or Name fields. The Series drop-down allows filtering by category, such as Warning, School, Guide. Once the sign is selected, then the sizes available for that sign will be selectable from the Size field drop-down.

Press Open to place the sign on the workspace.  Pick View>Full Screen (<ctrl>A) to see the sign if it is not immediately visible.
