How to fix letters that display filled (ex: a, b, d, e, etc.) when using the SignCAD MDL


Question:

How do I fix letters that display filled (ex: a, b, d, e, etc.) when using the SignCAD MDL?

Answer:

If the CAD Export Setup in OpenRoads SignCAD is set to Export Text As: Polylines, then certain letters (ex: a, b, d, e, etc.) display completely filled in MicroStation or OpenRoads Designer when open, placed or copy/pasted using the SignCAD MDL. 

Here are the steps to resolve this letter fill issue:

1) In OpenRoads SignCAD, pick File>CAD Export Setup.

2) In the CAD Export Setup dialog, change the Export Text As: setting from Polylines to Text and press OK. 

2) Save the file in OpenRoads SignCAD.

3) Use the SignCAD MDL to open, place or copy/paste the sign into MicroStation or OpenRoads Designer.
