Introduction: The instructions and video below show how to add, organize and place Favorites in OpenRoads SignCAD.
Favorites are commonly used elements, signs, layouts, and assemblies of objects in arrangements that can be added to and organized at the user's discretion. Favorites can be placed into signs, saving a lot of repetition of work especially when those same elements are used in many signs. Favorites can be organized in the Manage Favorites dialog.
Favorites are stored locally in the following location:
OpenRoads SignCAD 2024
Example path: C:\Users\{User}\AppData\Local\Bentley\OpenRoads SignCAD 2024.00\Favorites folder.
OpenRoads SignCAD 2023
Example path: C:\Users\{User}\AppData\Local\Bentley\OpenRoads SignCAD 2023.00\Favorites folder.
How to add, organize and place favorites:
Step 1: In OpenRoad SignCAD, open a file that has an element, sign or arrangement that you want to add to Favorites.
Step 2: Add to Favorites. Click on Favorites>Add to Favorites>Favorites. A success message will display letting you know that the Favorite has been added. Press OK to close the message dialog.
Step 2: Organize Favorites. Click on Favorites>Organize Favorites to display the Manage Favorites dialog. Select the SGN file (ex: ribbon.sgn) to see the preview. Options for organizing saved Favorites from left to right include: new folder, expand, collapse, rename, delete, copy and paste. Files can also be dragged into folders.
Step 4: Place a Favorite. Have the sign file active that you want to place the Favorite in and click on Favorites>Organize Favorites. Select one of the saved Favorites and click on Import. Left-click to place the Favorite on the workspace.
