OpenRoads SignCAD 2025
Step 1: Activate the Text tab by selecting the Drawing > Text > Place Text tool or double clicking on existing text. Select the desired Text settings (Font, Size, Color, etc).
Step 2: Position the text cursor by clicking the left mouse button in the drawing window. The example below shows the text cursor inside a panel.
Step 3: Type the text without the accent characters. Example: Cesar Chavez<enter>.
Step 4: Position the text cursor on the right of the "e" in Cesar and drag left to highlight the "e" blue.
Step 5: From the Text tab, pick the Insert Symbol tool.
Step 6: Select the "é" symbol to place it.
Step 7: Highlight the "a" in Chavez. From the Insert Symbol dialog, pick the á symbol to place it. Close the Insert Symbol dialog.
OpenRoads SignCAD 2023 and 2024
Step 1: Click on Text>Place Text. In the Place Text dialog, select the desired text font and size (ex: Font: Highway B 2K and Size: 10).
Step 2: Click in the Place Text dialog and type Tú me importas; llámame. To get the accent characters, pick the Insert Symbol icon and select the appropriate symbol to place it. Press Close to exit the Insert Symbol dialog.
Step 3: Press the Place Text button and left-click to place the text in a panel or on the workspace.
NOTE: If placing white text on the white workspace, select the Letter Outline option in the Properties>File Properties to see the placed text.
