Questions:

How can we configure our display settings to run OpenRoads Design on a 4K monitor/high resolution/high DPI monitor?

Sometimes when opening OpenRoads on a high resolution monitor, several toolbars (such as the Feature Definition Toggle Bar) are large with small icons, or some dialog panels (such as the Create Complex Terrain) do not display at all.

Answer:

  1. Right-Click on the desktop shortcut “OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition”
  2. Choose Properties from the panel
  3. Select the Compatability tab
  4. Select the “Change high DPI settings” button
  5. Enable “Use this setting to fix scaling problems for this program instead of the one in Settings”
  6. Choose “I open this program” from the pulldown
  7. Enable “Override high DPI scaling behavior.”
  8. Choose “System” from the pulldown

Note: This does not require a restart of Windows 10 however this does require a restart to OpenRoads Designer before changes will take effect.
