Problem:
Dialogs are not visible or will not open when using OpenRoads SignCAD.
Solution:
1) Close OpenRoads SignCAD. In File Explorer, browse to the C:\Users\firstname.lastname\AppData\Local\Bentley\OpenRoads SignCAD 2023.00 or 2024.00 folder. Open the User.xml file in Notepad. Change the <ToolboxLocation> X, Y settings to 0 and save the changes to the file in Notepad (File>Save). Launch OpenRoads SignCAD and select different tools to see if the dialogs display correctly.
2) Delete the User.xml file.
- Navigate to C:\Users\firstname.lastname\AppData\Local\Bentley\OpenRoads SignCAD 2023.00 or 2024.00 and delete the User.xml file.
- Once the file is deleted, launch OpenRoads SignCAD and select different tools to see if the dialogs display correctly.
3) If you are using multiple monitors, the dialog may be open off screen somewhere or displaying on another monitor. One of the simplest ways to test this is simply disconnect/disable one of the monitors and the dialog should be forced onto the screen.
4) Try raising your screen resolution since your monitor's resolution may be too low. A recommended screen resolution is 1920x1080. The steps to do this vary with the operating system and video card being used. Generally, the screen resolution can be changed by going to the Control Panel, opening the Display category and then selecting Screen Resolution.
5) Maximize the dialog in the Taskbar.
- Locate the OpenRoads SignCAD windows on the taskbar at the bottom of your screen and hover over it so you can see the windows open in that program. See the screenshot above.
- Right-click on the window that you cannot see (ex: Place Text dialog) and select "Maximize".
- The window should now cover the screen. Simply grab the window by left-clicking at the top of the window and dragging it down.
